2007/6/7 Paris Uses Her Get Out Of Jail Free CardI normally do not vent when it comes to issues like this...however, this is proof that celebrities get priority over normal people. Paris Hilton went to jail to serve a 45 day sentance for driving with a suspended licence, and I am sure, driving under the influence. She was released with a new ankle bracelette from the LAPD, and send home. WHAT??? I'm sorry...if Martha Stewart can handle jail for her entire sentance, so can Paris!!! THROW HER SORRY A@@ BACK IN JAIL, TELL HER TO SUCK IT UP AND DEAL WITH IT!!! She complained that she was cold and only had three thin blankets, and no pillow. CRY ME A RIVER! Make her live on the streets for a while. In a box, or on a street bench, like the thousands of homeless people in California!!! Not everyone can be like Paris (then again, who would want to be like her???) but when she can worm her way out of jail "because of a health concern" then what about all the other prisoners who have "health concerns"? Do they get to leave jail with a bracelette and go home too????? No. Most of the people that are in jail have no resources like celebrities do, and if there was such a thing as fair treatment, she would still be sitting in her lonely little cell, writing her "diary" and being cold. I have no sympathy for celebrities who think they are better than anyone else, and that they can do anything without paying the concequences. No one should be treated better than anyone else, no matter WHO this person is!!!!
What if the person who kidnapped Kelsey Smith from Kansas had a "health concern"? Would he be given a bracelette and sent home? I know these are two differet circumstanes, but it still makes me wonder what if a celebrity did something like this? Would they get out of jail because they were famous, or had money, or had a "health concern"? I would hope not. This man who killed Kelsey deserves to be punished to the fullest degree of the law!!! Unfortunately the situation didn't happen in Texas. That guy would be on the fast lane to being excecuted because of the death penalty there. Which in my mind, he deserves for ending the life of that young woman. I know that not everyone believes in the death penalty, but in some cases...like Kelsey's, and child molesters/murders, serial killers, those who killed anyone in the 9/11 attacks etc...I would consider it more than warranted. However, there are others who feel that forgiveness is the greatest gift. If someone were to kill a child of mine, or someone I loved...I would make sure that they would pay for the crime they committed. I am all about forgiveness for some, but when it comes to something like this...I don't think I would be able to forgive so easily.
As far as Paris goes, she needs to do the time for what she did. When it comes to the man who killed Kelsey Smith...may he get the judgement that he deserves for what he did!! 2007/4/30 Talking about Drunk groom's brother takes his place - Peculiar Postings - MSNBC.com

Man saws house in two in divorce split German man chain saws house in two in divorce split, takes his half
Reuters
Updated: 9:14 p.m. CT March 9, 2007 BERLIN - A 43-year-old German decided to settle his imminent divorce by chain sawing a family home in two and making off with his half in a forklift truck. Police in the eastern town of Sonneberg said on Friday the trained mason measured the single-story summer house — which was some 8 meters (26 feet) long and 6 meters wide — before chain sawing through the wooden roof and walls. "The man said he was just taking his due," said a police spokesman. "But I don't think his wife was too pleased." After finishing the job, the man picked up his half with the forklift truck and drove to his brother's house, where he has since been staying. Copyright 2007 Reuters Limited. All rights reserved. Eau Claire, Wisconsin...ah, yes I can now say that this is where some really smart guys live...then there are guys like these:
*Apparently, the *burned* guy is now saying that he was "attacked" instead of actually initiating this little stunt gone bad...I think this guy must have forgot to put his brain in the day this happened...I could maybe, possibly, somewhat understand if he was a pyrotechnic guy in a heavy metal band or something like that...but to get drunk, pour lighter fluid on your genitals and then have your buddy try to light it...(and finally getting it lit on the second dose of lighter fluid) Well, there is one thing about this guy...he won't be getting any soon...(that was a joke) ha, ha, ha...

'Jackass' copycat lands in hospital Wisconsin man suffers burns to genitals; second man faces criminal charges
The Associated Press
Updated: 11:20 a.m. CT March 8, 2007 EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - Attempts to duplicate a movie stunt landed one man in the hospital with burned genitals and another facing criminal charges. The men were trying to do a stunt from one of the “Jackass” movies, in which a character lights his genitals on fire. Jared W. Anderson, 20, suffered serious burns to his hands and genitals, according to the criminal complaint. Randell D. Peterson, 43, who sprayed lighter fluid on Anderson and lit him on fire, was charged with felony battery and first-degree reckless endangerment Tuesday in Eau Claire County Court. Witnesses told police that Anderson, who was drunk, volunteered to do the stunt Sunday after watching the movie, the complaint said. After Peterson ignited Anderson, he ran into the bathroom, jumped into the tub and put the flames out, according to the complaint. He was taken to Luther Hospital, and eventually treated at the Regions Hospital Burn Unit in St. Paul, Minn., for second-degree burns. Anderson told police that he didn’t want anyone to get in trouble because of the stunt. Peterson was freed on a $2,000 bond. He has a hearing scheduled April 16. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison. © 2007 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.

2006/3/5 And The Best Improv Goes To...After tonight's Academy Awards show, I would have to give out an award of my own...
The Best Improv of the Night
The award goes to:
Jennifer Garner (Affleck) for almost falling on the stage while on the way to give out an award. Jennifer was calm, cool and collected when she got to the microphone and said, "I do my own stunts!"
That was the best improv answer that I have seen on any award show ever!!!
Who would you give an award to if you had the choice? (you can make your own award and give it to any celebrity) And The Winner Is....George Clooney for best supporting actor in Syriana!
“All right, so I’m not winning director,” the first-time winner joked, adding that an Oscar always would be synonymous with his name from then on, including in his obituary. “Oscar winner George Clooney, sexiest man alive 1997, ‘Batman,’ died today in a freak accident.” Clooney also lauded Oscar voters for their daring. “This group of people gave Hattie McDaniel an Oscar in 1939 when blacks were still sitting in the back of theaters,” Clooney said, referring to the supporting-actress winner from “Gone With the Wind,” the first black performer to receive an Oscar.
WAY TO GO GEORGE!! YOU ARE THE MAN OF THE YEAR!! (at least in MY book)...
I would also like to congratulate Reese Witherspoon for best actress in 'Walk the Line'! She definitely deserves it!! YOU GO GIRL!!!
To all the Life in the Dating Lane visitors... What was your opinion of the 78th Annual Academy Awards show? What did you like/didn't like? What did you think of John Stewart as this year's host? I would love to hear what your thoughts are on the show! Peace~ Paula 2005/7/24 Brian Kinney / Gale Harold & Queer as FolkIt is another Sunday evening, a weekend of a bad storm, no power, and I was more concerned that I might miss tonights episode of QAF than anything else. I had no power for 28 hours, due to the storm, all I had was my laptop and season 2 QAF on DVD...so I go through the first episode on that disk in the dark, and realized just how amazing the actor Gale Harold is. (not to mention very, very HOT). I wanted to find out more about him now since I watched the CD in the dark last night. I watched tonight's episode, and found myself laughing one minute from Brian's one- line comments like when Ben and Brian were driving back to the hospital, and Ben's hands were full of blood from him fighting with the protesters at the vigil. Ben asks Brian for something to clean his hands off with, Brian hands him a towel from the back seat of his car and Ben gives him a quarky look when Brian quickly replies, "It's my cum towel...for when your on the go..."
Later on, Brian is with his partner Justin, and asks him to marry him. I was in tears!!! AS IF IT WAS A SOAP OPERA!!! I couldn't believe a character like Brian's has "gone soft", no pun intended. I was so happy, I almost wished for a moment that I was Justin...but then again, it was a little hard for me being a woman and all... When he said the line "I'm taking a chance on love..." I cried like a baby!
I cannot believe just how much I have fallen in love with this show over the years. People often ask me why I like QAF as much as I do. My reply is in two answers...1.) The show gives me the chance to see a show that isn't your typical family, reality, or soap opera and 2.) I can't deny it any longer.....THE GUYS ON QAF ARE HOT!!! That's right...I am a straight girl who adores hot guys like Brian Kinney, Hal Sparks, Ben, and of course Emmett! I love them all!!! If I had to choose one though that I find is a lot like me, I would definately say Brian Kinney!!!! When I read that Gale Harold who plays Brian Kinney is a SINGLE, STRAIGHT, GORGEOUS MAN, I thought to myself, THERE IS A GOD!!! HAIL MARY!!! It gives me a little hope that there are still HOT, STRAIGHT guys in the UNITED STATES!!!! (NOT THAT THE GAY MEN ARE NOT HOT, OH THEY ARE...AND IF I WAS A MAN...I WOULD SOOOOO BE LOOKING IN THAT DIRECTION!!!) Unfortunately, us straight girls need to try and wrangle some of those hot guys for ourselves every once in a while!!1 (in my case...when they don't stand me up that is...)
So, if Gale Harold, or anyone who knows him reads this...pass the word that a woman in Wisconsin thinks he's "my Prince Charming" (if you saw tonights episode, you would understand...)!!!!!
2005/7/17 Tonight's Episode of Queer as FolkI have enjoyed watching Showtime's origional hit series, Queer as Folk since it aired it's first controvercial episode. I wanted to see what it was going to be like, and to see what life was like in other people's lives. I also have a thing for the hot guys on the show as well. Brian Kinney, played by Gale Harold is one of my favorites. He is the loud, obnoxious, "who cares what anyone thinks of me, I'm F*ING BRIAN KINNEY!" The show has had some very great plot structures with regards to issues like; homophobia, AIDS, and the most recent, gay marriage. Tonight's episode had me on the edge of my seat. One minute I was laughing at Emmett, and the next I was in tears thinking that one of the other main characters may have been killed in the bombing at Babalon. This show has helped me to see the pure hatred that some individuals have towards people who are different than them, and how other people choose to live their lives. I have a pure heart, and believe that we should stop looking at people as gay, straight, Mexican, Catholic, Republican, youth, or old. We are all human, and that is all that matters in this world. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of how much people place a "lable" on others, is that they tend to not look at putting a lable on themselves first. For example, September 11, 2001...how many people were going around asking, "are you gay, are you a Republican..." instead everyone that came out of those chared buildings, or who were on those planes were not labled...they were human. The only lables that came out of 9/11/01 were "terrorists, Al-Qeada, and Bin-Ladden". Maybe we need to look at these type of events and see that in the event of tradegy, we are all human, not labels and use that in our everyday lives instead of being so hypocritical of others. At this time in the world, we do not need to worry about who in the world is gay or straight, we need to be more worried about who are terrorists, and who are not!
